Taizhou Delegation Visits Melbourne to Strengthen Bilateral Cooperation with Oceania Business Council

In May 2026, a delegation from the Taizhou Municipal People’s Government, led by Vice Mayor Lingling Yang, visited Melbourne, Australia, for a series of official meetings and business discussions with the Oceania Business Council (OBC).

The delegation was warmly welcomed by Sunny Sun, Executive President of OBC, together with council members and industry representatives. During the visit, both parties held productive discussions focused on water technology cooperation, industrial development, and long-term international collaboration between Taizhou and Australia.

A key outcome of the meeting was the signing of a Framework Memorandum of Understanding on Water Technology Cooperation, marking an important step toward practical implementation and future technical exchange.

The discussions also highlighted opportunities for Taizhou enterprises to expand into the Australian market across several major sectors, including:

• Pharmaceutical and healthcare industries

• Automotive parts and advanced manufacturing

• Precision manufacturing and water infrastructure equipment

• New energy and energy storage technologies

Both parties expressed strong interest in establishing a long-term cooperation mechanism, including dedicated liaison channels, pilot projects in smart water management, and the proposed Taizhou–Melbourne Industrial Cooperation Conference planned for 2026.

This visit reflects a shared commitment to strengthening international partnerships, promoting technological exchange, and creating new opportunities for economic and industrial collaboration between China and Australia.
