Strengthening Cooperation and Promoting Exchange | Oceania Business Council (OBC) Vice Chair of the Board Diana Lin Leads Delegation to Visit Liaoning Council for the Promotion of International Trade

On the morning of 20 July, a delegation led by Diana Lin, Vice Chair of the Board of the Oceania Business Council (OBC), visited the Liaoning Council for the Promotion of International Trade (Liaoning CCPIT). The visit was accompanied by OBC Liaoning Representative Wang Yan and Shenyang Representative Wang Jun. Both sides held friendly discussions on strengthening connections between the business communities of Liaoning and Oceania, enhancing mutual understanding, and exploring future opportunities for economic, trade, and business cooperation.

The delegation was warmly received by Hou Wei, President of Liaoning CCPIT; Duan Dehui, Vice President; Wang Peng, Director of the Department of International Liaison; and other officials.

During the meeting, Ms. Lin expressed her hope that this exchange would serve as a new starting point for closer communication and collaboration. She noted that by gaining a deeper understanding of each other's strengths and resources, both organisations could make full use of their respective platforms to create favourable conditions for future trade and business cooperation.

During the discussions, both organisations introduced their organisational structures and core functions. OBC also presented its development history and recent achievements in international cooperation. The two sides exchanged views on topics including the international development of Liaoning enterprises, market opportunities in Oceania, industrial policies, international business forums, reciprocal business delegations, exhibition cooperation, and other areas of mutual interest. They also explored the establishment of a regular communication mechanism, enhanced information sharing, and a preliminary cooperation agenda for the coming year.

President Hou introduced Liaoning CCPIT as one of the province's key institutions for promoting international economic and trade cooperation. Its primary functions include international liaison, trade promotion, exhibition services, and commercial legal services. Liaoning CCPIT has established partnerships with more than 300 trade and business organisations across over 80 countries and regions, playing an important role in supporting Liaoning enterprises in expanding overseas while facilitating the introduction of international resources into the province. She expressed her hope that Liaoning CCPIT and OBC would maintain regular communication, strengthen information exchange, actively promote business delegations and economic cooperation, facilitate targeted resource matching, and jointly support the international development of enterprises.

Ms. Lin introduced OBC's recent development and highlighted its long-standing commitment to promoting economic and trade cooperation between Australia, New Zealand, the broader Asia-Pacific region, and China. She explained that OBC actively serves as a platform connecting governments, business associations, and enterprises, while providing support for cross-border trade, investment cooperation, and industrial partnerships. Leveraging its extensive international network and resources, OBC will continue to facilitate exchanges and provide services to help Liaoning enterprises better understand the Australian and Oceania markets and expand their international cooperation. She also noted that Liaoning's strong industrial foundation and open economy complement Oceania's strengths in resources, industry, and markets, expressing confidence that continued dialogue would lead to broader cooperation and stronger bilateral economic and trade relations.

President Hou thanked Ms. Lin for extending a sincere invitation on behalf of OBC. She emphasised that Oceania is one of Liaoning's important partners for international economic and trade cooperation and expressed the hope that both organisations would use this visit as an opportunity to deepen cooperation, leverage their respective platform advantages, create more channels for business exchanges, explore practical collaboration opportunities, and jointly support Liaoning's high-level opening-up.

Following the meeting, both sides expressed their shared commitment to strengthening communication, deepening friendship, and promoting future cooperation.

The visit further enhanced mutual understanding, established a solid foundation for ongoing communication, and created favourable conditions for future cooperation in trade promotion, business delegations, resource matching, and collaboration between business organisations. Both parties agreed to use this visit as a new starting point for maintaining close communication, strengthening information exchange, actively exploring cooperation opportunities, and advancing economic and trade relations between Liaoning and Oceania to new heights.
